I want to thank everyone who has volunteered so far to run as a Libertarian Party candidate for the next federal election. Below is a list of the current candidates. There are others who are unconfirmed at the moment.

We don't know when the next federal election is coming, but it could be soon. So NOW is the right time to sign up and help the cause of liberty!

If you want to see an example of a true liberal, a real libertarian, watch this inspiring new film Amazing Grace about the politician William Wilberforce who led the struggle to abolish slavery in the British Empire. He was a political radical, he never gave up and eventually he won in the face of what began as an immensely powerful slavery lobby.

I also feel very inspired by the freedom activism going on in the United States in terms of the 2008 presidential race. Libertarian Ron Paul is running for the Republican Party nomination and Steve Kubby and others are running for the U.S. Libertarian Party nomination.

These are American patriots who care about their country, who care about their country's problems. They want to help their country become freer, more just and more peaceful. In the same way, we need Canadian patriots to speak up about Canada's problems and stand up for what Canada is really supposed to represent - freedom, justice and peace.

So the Libertarian Party is offering Canadians an opportunity to stand for liberty and justice during the next federal election.
