HISTORIC LIBERTARIAN WIN !

First  EVER  LP Congressional Win                 Smither Wins Tom DeLay’s Seat

Washington and Houston are shocked by the first ever Libertarian Party win of a US Congressional seat after a successful national Libertarian fund-raising effort.  Disgraced Republican power broker Tom DeLay has been replaced in an upset win by Libertarian Party candidate Bob Smither.  Smither, a respected electrical engineer who runs his own small south Texas engineering company, attributed his historic victory to the contributions of Libertarians all around America and the enthusiastic call for change by college volunteers who poured in by the hundreds to pound the pavement in support of  Smither’s paradigm-busting philosophy of less government.

Can it really happen?  YES– and, with your help, it will !  Here’s WHY:

* Texas District 22 is the ONLY district in America where the Republican Party does not have a Congressional candidate on the ballot.  Due to Tom DeLay’s belated withdrawal from the campaign, the Republicans have NO candidate on the ballot.

*  District 22 is an extremely conservative, limited Government area southwest of Houston, Texas.  Bush won with 64% of the vote in ‘04 when most citizens still thought he believed in smaller, limited government.

*  DeLay’s legal problems have demoralized the local Republican Party and called into serious question the credibility of conventional politics and professional politicians.

* Democrat Lampson is a dream candidate– for Libertarians!  He is a “carpetbagger” who moved from Beaumont, Texas– one of the most liberal, pro-union, anti-business areas of the state– for the explicit purpose of running for this seat.  He is a former TAX COLLECTOR in a district where “taxes” is a dirty word.

                        * Bob Smither is a fresh face with not a hint of ‘ole boy politics or scandal.

One of the guys from Smither's campaign sent me this I thought you might enjoy it.
Please go to his website www.smither4congress.com and give him some money.
